What age range are the pouches formulated for?
We always suggest speaking to your pediatrician if you are unsure which stage your little one is ready for. Generally, we consider the following age ranges appropriate for these stages:
- Happy Baby, Stage 1: Starting Solids
- Happy Baby, Stage 2: 6+ months
- Happy Baby, Stage 3: 7+ months
- Happy Tot, Stage 4: 24+ months
How do Stage 4 pouches differ from Stage 1, 2, and 3 pouches?
Stage 4 pouches are intended for little ones 2 years and up. If you have any concerns regarding if this product is appropriate for your little one, we suggest consulting your pediatrician.
When I opened a pouch the puree seems clumpy and/or watery? Is this safe?
Here at Happy Family, we do not use any stabilizers or binders. Because of this, occasionally during the cold weather months, our pouches can freeze while they are distributed to your local store. When ingredients freeze—especially vegetables!—the water can separate out from the solid food, causing it to become chunky and watery. While these are completely safe to consume, they don’t always look very appetizing!

Why is there sometimes a darker plug of puree in the spout of the pouch upon opening? Is this a food safety concern?
This is absolutely safe to consume and is not a food safety issue. After the pouch is filled with puree, it is exposed to heat for pasteurization for product safety. At that point, the puree in the spout is exposed to more heat, which can result in a color change and/or a thickening of the product.

Are Happy Baby and Happy Tot pouches allergy-friendly?
The majority of our Happy Baby and Happy Tot pouches are free from wheat, gluten, dairy, soy, and nuts. The exceptions is our Happy Tot Super Morning product line, which contains dairy. To see allergen details for all of our products, click here.
